LOS ANGELES (June 28, 2019) – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced details for season 2 of Street Fighter League: Pro-US 2019 at the CEO premier event in Daytona Beach.
Season 2 will again be comprised of six teams. The top two teams from season 1, Team INFERNO and Team GALE, will return for season 2 with their rosters intact. In addition, four new teams will be formed in a manner similar to season 1 with captains sourced from the CPT leaderboard. Online qualifiers will be held to fill the second slot of each team and the third slot will be comprised of players voted in by the community.
Online qualifiers will be held for online warriors July 6 – 7 and July 13 – 14, respectively. Nominations for community favorites begins July 1 and ends July 28. We encourage players to participate in both programs to maximize their chances to be selected for a team. To register for both or either event visit the SFL landing page at Smash.gg.
Street Fighter League: Pro-US features 3-on-3 Street Fighter™ V: Arcade Edition team battles, with six teams formed from a mix of seasoned pros, online warriors and fan favorite players from the United States. The League features a unique to FGC “character ban” feature. At the start of each match, teams will have the opportunity to ban one character for the entirety of the match. Players must also choose different characters from their teammates for the duration of the match. The goal is for the teams to strategize the matchups in and out of game by working more closely as a team, especially if the best player may not necessarily get to play their best character exclusively. For season 2 the rules have been updated so teams need to ban a different character each time they meet in the tournament.
Street Fighter League: Pro-US 2019 season 2 is streamed weekly on Thursdays at 4:00 PDT on the Capcom Fighters channels starting September 5th:
