We are back after a holiday week off for more thrilling Street Fighter V: Champion Edition action! It’s the halfway point of season 3 and the race continues to earn one of four playoff spots. The top two teams from the playoffs will move on to the Finals where they will compete against the top two teams from STREET FIGHTER LEAGUE Japan with a $150,000 prize pool up for grabs. This week’s episode puts HotDog29’s PSYCHO SHINOBI against Big Bird’s Team NASR. Following that up is an explosive showdown between the top two teams as iDom’s undefeated ALL-IN takes on Punk’s ALPHA 3.

TEAM PSYCHO SHINOBI vs TEAM NASR
Banned Characters: Guile and Rashid
Big Bird’s Team NASR has two of the best Rashid players in the world so a Rashid ban hits the team especially hard. They had to find a way to win without the character and they did that this week against PSYCHO SHINOBI with a 3-1 victory. It was far from an easy road, however, with all matchups except the last one being decided in the third game and some going to the final round. With the first half of the season behind them now, NASR will be so much stronger going forward with Rashid back in play.
For HotDog29’s Team PSYCHO SHINOBI, Caba’s Guile has been a frequent target for bans and in previous weeks his secondary, Ryu, seemed lacking at this level of competition. This week, Caba’s Ryu was the team’s highlight as he scored a big 2-1 win against Samurai’s Akuma to open the Team Battle. Xian and HotDog29 put up valiant efforts against Big Bird and AngryBird in their respective matchups but came up just short. Like NASR, this team will be stronger in the second half of the season with Caba able to use Guile.

TEAM ALPHA 3 vs ALL-IN
Banned Characters: Poison and Karin
It’s a battle of the top two as iDom’s ALL-IN, going into this week undefeated at 5-0, taking on Punk’s ALPHA 3 at 4-1. ALL-IN has been firing on all cylinders the entire season and seemed to be having fun doing so. ALPHA 3’s only loss was against ALL-IN all the way back in week one and, as we have seen, this is not the same team. The team has shaken off its week one jitters and now has its swagger back.
In week one ALL-IN swept ALPHA 3 with a 3-0 score. In the rematch the script has been flipped with ALPHA 3 getting the 3-0 sweep. It began with an epic match between the two team captains, iDom using Laura and Punk using Kolin. This was a match fought with a lot of emotion on both sides and it really came down to the wire. Punk came out on top 2-1 and it didn’t get much better for ALL-IN after that. Nephew defeated 801 Strider decisively 2-0 in the second round. The match between CJ Truth’s Cammy and SKZ’s Seth was thrilling but CJ Truth got the 2-0 victory in the end.

TEAM STANDINGS
ALPHA 3 and ALL-IN are now tied at 5-1 after this week’s showdown. NASR, PSYCHO SHINOBI and DYNAMITE are all tied at 2-3 with NASR moving to third place after tie-breakers. UYU is still hunting for its first win at 0-5.
