TEAM DYNAMITE vs TEAM UYU

Banned Characters: Rashid and Balrog

Team DYNAMITE opted to ban Rashid, which forced UYU’s Oil King and JB to use secondary characters. Because the Rashid ban does affect two UYU players, expect that ban to be used to its utmost this season. UYU replied with a ban on Balrog, aimed at slowing down Smug.

Smug’s Team DYNAMITE came out very strong here in week three, dispatching Oil King’s Team UYU in a 3-0 clean sweep. UYU was at its best in the second matchup between MenaRD’s Abigail and Kami’s Akuma which came down the very last round.

The Rashid ban is going to be used against UYU by every opposing team at least once this season, so they need to find a way to win with those secondary characters. JB’s Poison does look formidable which is a big upgrade from previous seasons and Oil King’s Seth is high tier as well, but they have to get those wins. The season has just begun, so we will see how UYU adapts.

TEAM PSYCHO SHINOBI vs TEAM ALPHA 3

Banned Characters: Karin and M.Bison

Team ALPHA 3’s Punk is arguably the best player in the world and he’s not used to losing. The shocking win by Singapore’s SKZ against him last week and the rest of his team being swept by ALL-IN in week one needed to be answered. HotDog29’s PSYCHO SHINOBI got its first win last week against Team DYNAMITE and was looking to carry the momentum forward.

The team captains faced off to lead things off and with the main characters for both players banned they both used secondary characters. The Punk we were expecting in week one was back and he casually defeated HotDog29 in a Kolin mirror-match 2-0, ending the last round with a perfect round with dramatic flair. CJ Truth looked a lot more confident this week as well, following up with a 2-0 win against Caba’s Guile.

It was up to Xian for PSYCHO SHINOBI and his Seth got a 2-0 win against Nephew’s Kolin in the first matchup. His next opponent was Punk, and although he had several big momentum swings in his favor it as not enough. Punk eliminated Xian 2-0, delivering ALPHA 3’s first Team Battle win. ALPHA 3 looked like a different team here in week 3 with a lot more confidence, both in their demeanor and their play.

TEAM STANDINGS

At the end of week three it’s an incredibly tight race with all but two teams having a 1-1 record. Team ALL-IN is the only team with a 2-0 record so far and Team UYU is still hunting for their first win.
